Whiting and Davis manufactured their Beadlite purses in the late 1920’s- 1930’s.  The metal panels were made to resemble glass beads and, rather than being flat squares, were designed as faceted domes.

This purse has an architectural, gold-toned, step-frame with a ball and socket closure.  A finger strap is attached directly to the clasp.  The body of the bag was finished in a soft-white, Beadlite mesh and is large enough for a little money and a lipstick.

The interior frame has the Whiting and Davis stamp on both sides.  The fabric lining is coming loose and has a lot of discoloration, but was left intact for authentification.

Note:  The mesh is completely attached to the frame and is in very good condition.  There is some very minor enamel loss on some of the domes – mostly on the tops.   The frame, in some areas, has lost its shiny finish.
