The tobacco brand, Schimmelpenninck, was named after a famous Dutch governor named, Rutger Jan Schimmelpenninck. He is pictured on the front of the label under a coat of arms in red and yellow. The scenery on the rest of the tin is straight from the Dutch West Indies: palm trees, a grass hut, and two world globes. The back of the tin has a paper stamp and a few labels, one of which has a faux cancelation mark, as if it had gone through the post. The tin has turned dark gray with age, with the interior having some oxidation.
The label on the interior of the lid is in good condition. The exterior label has some wear and some small tears in the paper.
