Besides having a market value, vintage sterling offers superior quality, thoughtful craftsmanship, and unique designs. Sterling will develop a lustrous finish, when used daily, and is also dishwasher safe.
This sterling spoon was designed in 1906. The craftsman used classical iconography, grapes, and grape leaves as his central motif. The handle gently undulates from mid handle and ends with an ornately designed tip. The letter, “M,” is engraved right above this. Thought was given to the neck, as it touches the bowl, and is represented by two tendrils curling inward. The back of the bowl has a grape leaf in relief.
“Sterling,” is stamped on the back of the neck. The numbers, “-06” are engraved on the back of the handle.
