Manufactured by J. Gleaves & Sons, this beading plane was made from dense wood and stained a rich brown. The company’s name and street address is engraved on the end of one side of the block and again on the metal blade. Years of care have left it in very nice condition.
J. Gleaves & Sons was established in Manchester, England in 1833. The company is still in operation.
